Audi Club Northwest mourns the passing of Bruce Fields

Bruce R. Fields March 24, 1961 – Oct 23, 2013 52 yrs
Bruce R. Fields died on Oct 23, 2013 at his home in Bremerton. Bruce was born in Bremerton to Delmar V. Fields and Mary L. Fields. The youngest of four children, Bruce grew up in the family business – Bremerton Auto Parts where he developed his passion for all things automotive and mechanical, trivia and community as he supported his parent’s in…terest with Bremerton Central Lion’s Club and the Soroptimist Club.

Bruce graduated from Bremerton High School in ‘79 and earned a degree at Western Washington University. He was involved in the early Bremerton Armed Forces events, Handlers’ Car Club. Bruce was an instructor, coach, safety steward and course marshal for Audi Club Northwest. He has autocrossed, drag raced, and driven road courses throughout his motorsports career. He worked tirelessly as the track manager for Bremerton Motorsports Park for several years. Bruce found his dream job as a consultant “All Things Arranged” for the LeMay Family Collection Foundation where he also spent untold hours volunteering, assisting wherever his vast automotive knowledge could help out. Wherever he went, he shared his wit and wisdom with his fellow enthusiasts.

Bruce enjoyed bbq cook-offs with his family, golfing, road trips and trivia night. Birthday dinner at The Met in Seattle with friends was an annual event.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Del and his brother Michael J. Fields. He is survived by his mother, Mary, sisters; Laurie, Alberta Fields-Witcher (Gordon) and Diane Burlingame (Larry), nieces; Christine and Erica Witcher, Sarah Burlingame and Jayme (Burlingame) Smith, nephews; Aaron and Kelly Fields and great-nephew Barrett Mason Smith as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members by choice.

A Celebration of Life will be shared on Tuesday, Oct 29, 2013 at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Lions’ Sight Foundation or the American Diabetes Foundation.
